Our Founding Story...

In 2017,
Chris's life changed forever,
when his best friend Tom,
suddenly took his own life.

After struggling with intense symptoms of PTSD, a good friend invited him for a dip at their local river.









Chris continued to dip once a week and began having cold showers every day.

In time, Chris's life began to drastically improve.










He became able to sit with the intense feelings of grief and trauma associated with his friends death.

Chris started his healing journey and returned to back to life.


His life purpose now is to encourage, support and enable individuals to navigate life using the power of cold-water.

This story is the foundation of Water Mates purpose:

To help people successfully navigate the inevitable challenges of their lives, so they can become the person they were meant to be.
